Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will continue to consolidate, stability will be generally good. Isolated deposits of fresh unstable windslab will begin to form on North-East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. These deposits are not expected to gain significant depth and will mainly affect gully tops and coire rims. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very occassional showers will be rain at most levels overnight, light showers during the day will turn to snow above around 600 metres by the end of the afternoon. The freezing level will be around 1150 metres overnight gradually falling through daylight hours to around 600 metres by the end of the day. Strong South-South-Westerly winds will veer Westerly and decrease to moderate. Observed Weather Influences: Showers turned to rain at all levels from mid morning. Very strong Southerly winds veered South-Westerly. The freezing level rose to just above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: Instabilities are present in recent windslab accumulations mainly on North-West to North-East aspects above 950 metres. Instabilities are localised and affect mainly gully tops and coire rims. Stability improved throughout the day. Elsewhere the old snowpack is well bonded and stable with a thin covering of soft snow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
