Forecast Snow Stability: The limited snowpack which mainly exists in the higher North and East facing corries will become wet at all elevations as rain affects the snowpack. Some isolated, localised wet snow instabilities may develop on steeper slopes, mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Elsewhere the snowpack stability will generally be good. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will remain above summits through the period. Overnight, rain affecting the area which will persist through much of the day on Wednesday. Strong, Southerly winds easing slightly through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Clear, cooler conditions affected the area overnight when summit temperatures were in the region of minus 1.2 Centigrade. Today was generally dry and slightly cooler, higher summits were mostly cloud covered and the winds were fresh, Southerlies. On occasions there was some very light drizzle after midday, brighter conditions in the afternoon.

ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack which is patchy and mainly exists in the higher North and East facing corries, is partially moist but stability remains generally good. A degree of firming initially occurred on the highest slopes, softening slightly with rising ambient daytime temperatures. The avalanche hazard is Low.
