Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to deplete and soften at lower levels. Higher up there will be some firming of the existing generally stable snowpack and later areas of windslab will begin to develop and gain depth on North through East to South-Easterly aspects above 800 metres. These instabilities will mainly affect wind sheltered steeper terrain such as ridge crests and the tops of gullies. Some cornice growth can also be expected on the same aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong to fresh East winds at first, turning West-South-West overnight becoming strong, West later. The freezing level will be at 500 meters at first then rise to remain around 600 metres by the early hours, then lower again to around 450 metres by the end of the period. Rain showers at lower levels becoming increasingly wintry higher on the hill with heavy snow showers expected. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry morning with light North-North East winds. The freezing level lowered to around 850 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has depleted and consolidated at all altitudes and aspects. There were some small areas of lingering wet snow instabilities where the snow is deeper on very steep terrain above 800 metres on West through North to East aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
