Forecast Snow Stability: Good stability in most places during early morning. Some redistribution of snow expected as wind speeds increase later. Localised accumulations of moderately bonded windslab will build on steep North-East to East aspects above 950m by the end of the day. Gully tops and coire rims the most affected locations. Better stability at lower altitudes and where recently wind scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate
Forecast Weather Influences: Dry, cold and clear overnight with light winds. Some snow showers later in the morning on strengthening West-South-Westerly winds. Freezing level rising steadily to above summits by dusk. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight precipitation falling as snow above 750m then dry but with some snow showers later in the period. Cold. Moderate Westerly later North-North-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Localised surface instability during the morning on steep sun affected South-East to South aspects above 950m: numerous single point releases noted in Coire Ardair and Coire a Chriochairein. Good stability at lower altitudes and on less steep ground in most other places. Late drifting observed onto steep South-East to South aspects above 1000m at the time of reporting. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
