Fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.
Gradual increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of new snow and wind. The new snow is bonding poorly with the old snowpack in many places. The new snow can be released easily, even by a single winter sport participant in all aspects and generally above the tree line. Many medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large natural avalanches are possible. The current avalanche situation calls for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.
Over a wide area over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow will fall until the afternoon above approximately 1500 m. The new snow is lying on soft layers in all aspects above approximately 1800 m. Towards its base, the snowpack is favourably layered; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow.
