Snowpack Structure

In some localities in some regions up to 30 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1500 m. The snowpack remains quite subject to considerable local variations. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the centre of the snowpack, especially on shady slopes above approximately 1900 m, and on sunny slopes at elevated altitudes.
