Avalanche Summary

Strong westerly winds continue to drift snow into slabs you can trigger. Avoid triggering avalanches by avoiding steep, north through east to south easterly-facing slopes near and above treeline. These wind-drifted areas often have a smooth, pillowy appearance. If you trigger an avalanche, it may break above you and take you for a ride through trees or rocks. Choose wind-sheltered or low-angled slopes for safer travel options.
