Highlights

The General Avalanche Hazard is HIGH. Slabs to over three feet in depth have formed from strong winds and snowfall over the last several days. These slabs lie in wind loaded avalanche terrain and could be easily be triggered by backcountry enthusiasts and could release naturally. The size and sensitivity of these slabs will increase today as the storm continues to bring snow to the area. Once triggered these slabs could release deeper layers in the snowpack, where faceted snow lies, potentially to the ground. Backcountry riders should avoid steep slopes and avalanche run out zones.
