Avalanche Summary

You can easily trigger an avalanche from a distance and below, and look out for natural avalanches. The most dangerous slopes face a northerly and easterly direction at high elevations. Observers have reported avalanches over running areas they consider “safe zones.” Reassess all your usual travel routes. Give slopes steeper than 30 degrees a wide margin. You can find safer travel at lower elevations on lower-angled slopes sheltered from the wind.
