Avalanche Summary

Slopes with wind-drifted snow and lots of trigger points are the most deadly. You can trigger an avalanche that breaks on weak layers buried 2 to 3 feet. You will probably not get any warning signs, such as cracking or collapse. You can trigger avalanches from below.

You can find safer riding on slopes without wind-drifting at lower elevations and on slopes less than 30 degrees without overhead hazard.
