Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes are at upper elevations, where winds drift last week's snow into thicker slabs over weak old snow surfaces. These drifted areas continue to grow increasingly stubborn, but a good thing to avoid. If you were to trigger one of these drifted areas, it would be below ridgelines and in cross-loaded terrain features.

Safer travel can be found in wind-sheltered and lower-elevation terrain, where the new snow remains unconsolidated.
