Avalanche Summary

You could trigger an avalanche where you find more than about 8 inches of new snow. In wind-drifted areas, look for cracking and collapsing to highlight dangerous slopes. You are most likely to find deeper drifts close to ridgelines and along gully walls. On none drifted slopes, the snow may release as a sluff that could pile up deeply if combined with a terrain trap. You can find safer riding on slopes sheltered from the wind.
