Avalanche Summary

Most slopes have a thin snow cover and are safe from avalanches. The few places you could trigger a small pocket of snow are on high-elevation, north to northeast-facing slopes where winds drifted recent snow over older, weaker snow. These avalanches will be small and easy to avoid, but could drag you through exposed rocks below if you get caught. Cracking along the snow surface or audible collapsing are signs that there is enough snow for an avalanche.
