Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE on steep slopes which have new snow on a hard old snow surface. Pockets of new soft slabs up to 10 inches in depth have formed on excellant hard old snow sliding surfaces in the higher elevation starting zones. Be aware of steep wind loaded aspects as these slabs will be easily triggered with more wind and snow in the forecast. Areas with new snow that is not underlain by this hard old snow surface do not present a hazard from avalanches.
