Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is LOW this morning and will increase to MODERATE this afternoon as warming occurs. At the higher elevations west-southwest winds have formed isolated pockets of soft slab up to eight inches in depth. These shallow slabs lie upon hard old snow layers and could be triggered in steep wind loaded starting zones and cliff areas. As temperature warm and the snowpack softens it may be possible to triggered wet loose and wet slabs avalanches on steep snow covered slopes at all elevations.
