Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Warm temperatures have created dangerous unstable conditions. Yesterday a snowmobiler was reported to have triggered a slide in the Dry Lake Drainage which buried his sled. In the Salt River Range a highmarking snowmobiler triggered a hard slab north of Sheep Pass. He was buried eight feet deep and recovered alive by his companions. Dangerous hard and wet slabs up to four feet in depth are likely to be triggered today in steep avalanche prone terrain and could step down to deeper layers of faceted snow. Wet loose slides are possible on steep snow covered slopes as the day warms.
