Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Areas of unstable snow exist in avalanche terrain where recent soft slabs to two feet in depth lie on an unstable snow pack. Cold temperatures and settlement have increased the stability of this snow however these slabs could still be triggered by larger loads such as snowmobilers on steep avalanche terrain that has been wind loaded. Once triggered they are likely to pull out deeper layers to four feet. The consequences of riding avalanche prone slopes should be considered today.
