Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. New snow and wind will begin to form new soft slabs on leeward apsects. These surface slabs will be easy to trigger on steep wind loaded slopes as they will be forming on a weak layer of surface hoar. Deep old slabs could still be triggered on very steep wind loaded aspects that have not had recent avalanche activity.
