A gusty storm on Friday will raise the avalanche danger. You can easily trigger a slab avalanche on wind-drifted slopes, especially on near and above treeline terrain that faces north through east to south. Most avalanches will break one to two feet deep, but on northerly terrain, one could break deeper into buried weak layers. Look for safer options in wind-sheltered or wind-scoured terrain.
