Avalanche Activity

The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days represent the main danger.

Medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large natural avalanches are possible in particular in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Avalanches can be released, even by a single winter sport participant.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of new snow and wind, wind slabs will form in the course of the day. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack.

Tendency

Intensive precipitation.
