Forecast Snow Stability: The existing widespread snowpack will continue to slowly soften but will remain well bonded and stable throughout. Any remaining cornices could potentially collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A mainly dry picture with light rain edging in during the afternoon. Freezing level above summits throughout. Gale force Westerly winds will increase to become storm force by noon. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with very strong Westerly winds. The freezing level, initially around 700 metres, started to slowly rise in the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack is firm, stable and well bonded throughout. Snow cover is widespread with the high plateaus holding the greatest amounts. The avalanche hazard is Low.
