Forecast Snow Stability: Cold conditions will firm up the existing snowpack which will become icy particularly in exposed locations. New snow and wind transport of existing deposits will form unstable windslab in sheltered locations mainly above 850 metres. Summit gullies and steep corrie rims with a North-West through North to South-Easterly aspect will be most affected. Fresh cornices will be fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be strong to gale Southerly overnight veering Westerly by day. New snow in the later part of the night will be followed by a mixture of sunny spells and blustery snow showers through the day. The freezing level will be around 300-500 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A light fall of new snow overnight affected the higher slopes. Winds have been mainly fresh from the North-West. The freezing level is around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally stable in most locations with cooler conditions assisting the consolidation process. Localised instabilities exist in sheltered areas such as gully exits and steep South-Easterly slopes mainly above 950 metres. These areas are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
