New snow: 5 to 10 cm of snow will fall on Wednesday above approximately 1800 m. The new snow is bonding quite well with the old snowpack in all aspects. The wind will be light. Especially on very steep slopes and in steep rocky terrain more small to medium-sized dry snow slides and avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. These can in some places be released by people, but they will be small in most cases. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in very isolated cases. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Field observations show good snowpack stability. Less snow than usual is lying. On sunny slopes below approximately 2300 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The conditions below approximately 3000 m are spring-like, in particular on very steep sunny slopes. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. In the last few days hardly any more avalanches occurred naturally.

In particular in the regions of the north exposed to the foehn wind 5 to 10 cm of snow, but less in some localities, will fall on Thursday above approximately 1600 m. The avalanche danger will increase during the day.
