Terrain and Travel Advice

Adjust your travel plans accordingly to the changing conditions of elevation and time of day.
Remember that in the spring strong solar radiation and warm temperatures can weaken the snow in a matter of minutes.
Cornices become weak with daytime heating or solar exposure.
Cornice failure may trigger large avalanches.
Rain or periods of intense solar radiation can rapidly enhance the effects of warming.
