Little Yoho.
Its a slow start to the ski season with low snow levels, but a great start for climbing. Some gully climbs could see increased spindrift with incoming wind and light snow. The basal rain crust will be the layer to watch in the coming weeks. SH
Moderate Westerly winds with a slight cooling trend and only trace amounts of snow until the weekend. Expect 5-10cm by Sunday.
Below treeline there is not enough snow for avalanches. A supportive rain crust above 1900m formed in early Nov. and lies 20-40cm above the ground. How high this rain crust exists has yet to be determined. Developed surface hoar throughout the region will be buried this weekend. Some lee gullies have thin windslabs.
No avalanches reported in the last week.
