Warm temperatures and incoming precipitation means rain at lower elevations.  Avalanche hazard will increase as freezing levels climb to mountain top levels tomorrow.

Tonight: Wet flurries, 6cm, low of 0.0, wind SW 30, FL 2200m

Thursday: Nil precipitation, Alpine temp 5.0, Freezing level 3000m

Snowpack Summary

The snowpack has undergone numerous melt-freeze cycles resulting in several crusts in the upper snowpack on all but high (>2400m) N aspects, where one can still find loose, dry snow. Check out this link for more info on spring conditions.

Avalanche Summary

A size 2.5 cornice triggered avalanche was observed in the highway corridor on the north side of Mt Macdonald.  Several low elevation glide releases occurred within the last 48hrs.
