Weather Forecast

A mix of sun and cloud for Tuesday and Wednesday with high temperatures in the alpine of -5c and overnight lows of -12c.Â Winds are expected to be light out of the SW.

Avalanche Summary

No new activity.

Snowpack Summary

Not a lot happening in the snowpack until we get another snowstorm.Â Some wind slabs are present in the alpine, especially in cross loaded gullies.Â The more recent snowfall has buried the spotty surface hoar. This is not a big concern since the snowfall amounts were not significant.Â We are still not rating below treeline as there is not enough snow at that elevation to cause any avalanches.

Wind Slabs

Watch for wind slabs near ridge lines, lee features and cross loaded gullies. Ice climbers watch for these above and between pitches on routes.

Be careful with wind loaded pockets while approaching and climbing ice routes.Use caution in lee areas. Recent wind loading have created wind slabs.

Deep Persistent Slabs

This crust is mostly found on or near the ground. This layer has not been active lately, but there is potential for slab avalanches on this layer given the current snowpack structure.

Carefully evaluate terrain features by digging and testing on adjacent, safe slopes.
