Snow conditions will be hard and fast in the morning. Warming temperatures and strong solar radiation will increase the chance of wet loose avalanches on south-facing slopes in the afternoon. Continue to give a wide berth around large, over-hanging cornices. If you find wet, mushy snow in the afternoon, move to a different aspect.

A warm, dry trend continues over the West Central mountains through this weekend. You can expect overnight freezes to produce hard and fast conditions in the morning. The morning hazard will be overheating sleds and the potential for sliding falls in steep terrain. Clear skies and abundant sunshine will increase the chances of wet loose avalanches in the afternoon, particularly on any slopes facing the sun. The greatest chance of wet loose slides will likely be on south-west-facing slopes during peak heating of the afternoon. Pay attention to crusts breaking down into moist snow. If you're sinking past your ankles in wet snow, it's time to find a different aspect. Watch for clues like pinwheels or rollerballs indicating snow is becoming moist and losing strength. Expect some cornices to lose strength during afternoon heating. Make sure to give yourself plenty of space around large, over-hanging cornices. I would avoid being directly underneath any of these monsters in the afternoon.
