Regions: Glacier.
If you really want it: expect to hike to 1500m, moist snow to 1900m, 15cm over a crust to 2100m, and dry powder at higher elevations.
Avalanche Problems
Loose Wet
Rain has weakened the snowpack below ~2000m. Freezing levels dropped forming a crust. Rain has been triggering avalanches that gain mass on steep terrain running to below treeline. Expect avalanche activity to increase during periods of rain.
Aspects: All aspects.
Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.
Likelihood: Possible
Expected Size: 1 - 3
Storm Slabs
Snow started falling at Mt Fidelity on Oct 16. Since then the station has received 145cm of snow which has settled to an HS of 70cm. If you manage to get above freezing level (~2100m?) watch for storm snow and windslab instabilites.
Aspects: All aspects.
Elevations: Alpine.
Likelihood: Possible
Expected Size: 1 - 2
