The snowpack at the higher elevations is shallow and mostly stable. Avalanches are unlikely. Over snow travel is limited by the shallow snow depths. Obstacles are a hazard.

Westerly flow with increasing moisture will bring snow to the mountains from midnight tonight through Friday evening. Accumulations are to favor the Tetons where six to twelve inches of new snow is expected. Southwest winds are to average 20-25 mph on summits and temperatures are to be similar to today with highs in the mid-twenties at 9000 feet. Valleys will drop below freezing through the night and then rise into the mid-thirties. The avalanche danger will be Low on Friday. Depending on the timing and amount of new precipitation, small and shallow slabs could begin to form on hard snow surfaces at the high elevations.
