Highlights

The overall avalanche danger remains generally LOW. Human triggered avalanches are unlikely unless you are on very radical steep slopes along the upper ridges where wind has formed recent drifts.

Anticipate the avalanche danger to increase somewhat by Sunday as the next storm affects our area.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: No big change in conditions over the last few days. You will still find areas with good riding conditions. There is not much to talk about as far as avalanche conditions right now.

Mountain Weather: Today will be another nice day in the mountains with mild temperatures and partly cloudy skies. Anticipate clouds moving in on Saturday. The next storm will affect our area Saturday night. This is a tricky type of storm to forecast so my confidence is low in predicting how much snow we'll get. If things come together as some weather models suggest, we could see 8 inches of new snow. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised to see only a trace to a couple of inches. Because of the southeast flow we'll see during part of the storm, the east areas of the Skyline like Ferron Canyon may fair better with snow totals.
