Wind slabs and wet snow represent the main danger.
As a consequence of new snow and wind individual small to medium-sized slab avalanches are possible above approximately 1300 m. In the vicinity of peaks a dangerous avalanche situation will be encountered in some localities. The more recent wind slabs and can be released easily. Avalanches can penetrate down to the ground and reach medium size in some cases.
The small quantity of fresh snow and in particular the wind slabs formed by the strong wind are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to moistening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes.
