Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of low temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack consolidated. The snowpack remains unfavourable in particular on very steep shady slopes.

Avalanche Activity

Over a wide area over a wide area 5 to 10 cm of snow will fall above approximately 400 m. The new snow will be deposited on a favourable old snowpack in all aspects.

The new snow and wind slabs will be deposited on soft layers in all aspects. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in north to northeast to northwest facing aspects and on wind-loaded slopes.
