Forecast Snow Stability: The gradual warming trend will help to consolidate recent windslab accumulations. Areas of moderately bonded deposits will be encountered in wind sheltered locations on North through East to South aspects above 800 metres. Below this altitude the snow will be soft and wet but generally stable. Other aspects will tend to be wind scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very light snowfall during the early evening followed by a mostly dry day. South-South-Westerly winds throughout, increasing to severe gale force. The freezing level will steadily rise to 1100 metres overnight and then fluctuate between 1000 and 1200 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and sunny morning with some high level cloud forming during the afternoon. Strong West-North-Westerly winds at first, easing to moderate Southerlies later. Freezing level around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Moderately to weakly bonded windslab is present in wind sheltered locations on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. Areas most affected include defined corrie rims, tops of steep gullies and behind sheltering ridges. Below this altitude and above 700 metres on these aspects, moderately bonded windslab is present in wind sheltered locations. Localised moderately bonded accumulations can also be found on North and South aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
