Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to build on North-East to South-East aspects above 650 metres, especially in wind sheltered locations such as gully exits and corrie rims. Cross loading will affect North and South aspects. Cornices will continue to build and will be fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force West-North-Westerly winds overnight, backing South-West, then veering Westerly during the day. Overnight freezing level 300 metres, rising to 800 metres in the morning, lowering to 300 metres by the end of the day. Scattered snow showers will continue overnight, rain below 800 metres for a few hours during the morning, then snow for the rest of the period. Observed Weather Influences: Strong West-North-Westerly winds with heavy snow showers throughout the day. The freezing level was around 100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: New snow has fallen to all levels, mainly onto bare ground. The amount of fresh snow is generally superficial but where it has gained depth weakness in the snowpack do exist. These deeper accumulations are mainly present above 650 metres on North-East to South-East aspects in wind sheltered locations, corrie rims and natural depressions. Fragile cornices have started to build. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
