Det er vanskelig å finne sammenhengende skiføre. Sørvendte fjellsider er bare opp til ca. 1400 moh. Nord og østvendte heng kan ha skiføre fra omtrent 1200 moh. Den snøen som finnes er grovkornet og uten lagdeling. I overflaten er det stortsett skare med et lite dryss nysnø. Fredag synker snøgrensa, dette kan gi litt påfyll i høyfjellet vest i regionen.

I fjellområdene mot vest kan nysnø i kombinasjon med kraftig vind legge opp små ferske fokksnøflak i leheng. Disse kan utløses av en skiløper. Største faren nå er utglidning på skare og konsekvensen av terrengfeller.
