Forecast Snow Stability: Windslab will continue to develop in wind sheltered locations on West to North aspects above 900 metres. Sharply defined corrie rims, gully tops and steep burn lines will be most affected. Fragile cornices will continue to develop. Most areas will continue to hold shallow snow or well bonded snow-ice. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: A trace of snow overnight above 500 metres with some light to moderate snowfall during the day. Strong Easterly winds overnight, veering South-South-Easterly during the afternoon. Freezing level around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A cold day with fresh Easterly winds. A trace of new snow above 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Moderately bonded windslab is present in steeper, wind sheltered locations on West to North aspects above 900 metres with localised pockets on some North-East aspects. Elsewhere the snow is either very shallow or well frozen stable old snow. Some small cornices present above these aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
