Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming and solar radiation, the natural avalanche activity will rapidly increase.

In particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain large wind slabs formed. Most and wet avalanches can over a wide area be released, even by a single winter sport participant and reach large size. Below approximately 2300 m medium-sized to large ground avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to rapid moistening of the snowpack over a wide area above approximately 1800 m. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist and wet avalanches are to be expected as the day progresses, even very large ones.
