Avalanche Problems

Loose Dry

Loose snow avalanches involving last week's storm snow plus an additional 16 cm new snow overnight are possible in steep alpine terrain. These may slide naturally or be easily triggered by skiers.

Aspects: North, North East.

Elevations: Alpine.

Likelihood: Possible

Expected Size: 1 - 2

Wind Slabs

Overnight, ridge top winds from the south reached loading values. There is sufficient unconsolidated storm snow available for transport. This has likely created isolated areas of wind slab on northerly aspects in the alpine.

Aspects: North, North East.

Elevations: Alpine.

Likelihood: Possible

Expected Size: 1 - 3
