The clearly visible wind slabs represent the main danger.

The wind has transported some snow. As a consequence of a strong wind from northwesterly directions, wind slabs formed in particular in gullies and bowls. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep slopes above approximately 2000 m. Above the tree line the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger. Caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Fresh wind slabs are in many cases extensive and to be assessed with care and prudence. They can be released by a single winter sport participant. They are to be avoided as far as possible. Several mostly small natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of the moderate to strong wind.

In some localities 10 cm of snow has fallen since yesterday above approximately 2000 m. Thus far the wind has been strong to storm force in some localities over a wide area. In particular at elevated altitudes snow depths vary greatly at elevated altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. In its middle, the snowpack is fairly homogeneous. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. Especially on steep sunny slopes below approximately 2000 m only a little snow is lying.

As a consequence of new snow and wind the prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase. The avalanche danger will increase during the day.
