Snowpack Summary

On the surface, a widespread melt-freeze crust exists on nearly all aspects and elevations. The crust ranges from roughly 1 to 10 cm. The crust is generally supportive in the mornings while breaking down through the day. Below the surface crust, the snowpack is moist and generally well settled and bonding, with no current layers of concern.

Monday

A mix of sun and cloud, and no precipitation. Moderate northwest alpine winds. Treeline temperatures 0 to -5 C.

Tuesday

Cloudy, with flurries, 5 to 10 cm. Moderate to strong westerly alpine winds. Treeline temperatures 0 to -5 C. Freezing levels 700 m.

Wednesday

Cloudy with snow, 10 to 20 cm (higher amounts on the west of the island). Strong southwest alpine winds. Treeline temperatures around 0 C. Freezing levels 1300 m.
