Chic-Choc Mountains.
Getting around on the trails is difficult, as they are icy. Ski crampons can be useful.
No new avalanches reported or observed.
If you go into the backcountry, thanks for sharing your observations on the Mountain Information Network (MIN).
There is a generalized temperature crust at all elevations and on all aspects. The solar aspects warmed slightly today on all elevation bands.
Last week's strong to extreme southwesterly winds had a major impact on the snowpack in the alpine and at treeline. Many slopes are bare of snow.
The middle of the snowpack is made up of a superposition of facets and crusts.
