Highlights

New snow with strong southwest prevailing winds have developed sensitive slabs to eighteen inches in depth on lee slopes at mid and upper elevations. This new snow rests on areas with deeper slabs that needed more weight to pull out to three feet in depth. The chance of backcountry users releasing these avalanches will increase today with additional snowfall and wind. Avalanches are unlikely at low elevations today.
