Avalanche Summary

You can find multiple weak layers in the upper snowpack in the Park Range. You can trigger an avalanche on these layers large enough to bury you. Look for thin layers of softer snow below slabs of harder snow or crusts. You're most likely to find these weaker layers on northwest through northeast to east-facing slopes. Avoid steep, exposed, open slopes and slopes directly below the ridgetop on these aspects. Cracking in the snow and audible collapses are signs to avoid similar steep slopes.
