Avalanche Summary

You might trigger a slab avalanche above treeline where you find wind-drifted snow resting above a hard crust. Avoid steep slopes with a hollow, drum-like surface texture.

Look for safer options on slopes with refrozen or lightly sun-softened crusts. Strong winds on Tuesday and Wednesday will help keep snow surfaces cooler longer. Move away from steep sun-warmed slopes by the time you sink past your ankles, or see fresh roller balls.
