Avalanche Summary

Strong winds and light snowfall will create cohesive slabs on leeward slopes at all elevations. The most dangerous slopes are where these cohesive slabs rest on buried weak layers on northeast, east, and southeast-facing slopes near and above treeline. Seek out wind-sheltered slopes where the snow is soft, and your skis or feet sink at least to your boot tops for safer travel options.
