Forecast Snow Stability: Some consolidation of the snowpack is expected however, localised areas of poorly bonded windslab will persist. The greatest accumulations will be in steep wind sheltered locations mainly on N through E to SE aspects above 800 metres. NW aspects will also be affected due to cross loading. Sheltered gullies, scarp slopes and steep coire rims particularly affected. Fragile cornices will also persist. Wind affected slopes will often be firm and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Remaining cold with the freezing level at around 200 metres. Staying predominantly dry although a chance of a light isolated snow shower but not significant snow amounts. The strong West-North-West winds will ease becoming Westerly through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Today was dry with fresh West-North-Westerly winds, the freezing level was at around 400 metres. A fine day with some good visibility, and it felt much cooler than of late. ObservedSnowStability: Unstable windslab deposits were present in many steep wind sheltered places mainly on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Wind transportation of snow created further instabilities during today adding to the existing unstable snowpack. Sheltered gullies, scarp slopes and steep coire rims are particularly affected. Cornices are very fragile. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
