Snowpack Summary

Around 20cm of recent snow sits on previously rain-soaked snow below treeline. At alpine elevations, recent storm slabs and wind slabs may still be sensitive to triggers like the weight of  a person. Deeper in the snowpack, weaknesses such as loose sugary facets and crusts exist at least in some locations. We have limited field observations.
