Cold temps out there right now! Travel is still pretty thin (putting it mildly) in the Spray valley but good skiing is still being found in the Highwood pass area. Dont get pushed into bigger terrain because some areas are tracked out...

Weather Forecast

Friday is looking to be another cold day with light NW winds and no new precipitation. Day time highs will be in the - teens and overnight lows reaching -20s. Ugh!

Avalanche Summary

One new sz 2 wind slab on the N face of Mt Worthington. The slab started at 2800m, was 60m wide, 20-70cm deep and ran 400m over a cliff. The loose dry slides that were happenning earlier in the week seem to be slowing down.

Snowpack Summary

Recent storm snow from upslope events is slowly settling under the cold temps. Current buried windslabs are being easily found down 30-40cm that are failing in the moderate range . These slabs are not widespread but found along ridgelines and gullied terrain and definetly have a drummy hollow feel. Spray valley seems to have seen more NW winds and the upper snowpack consists of a 3-5cm thick windslab. Valley bottoms are rugged in the Spray. Just being honest....
