Daily bulletins with danger ratings are finished for the season. We are in transition from winter to spring and avalanche conditions can change quickly. General advice can be found in the Avalanche Problems section. Call 403-859-5140 for more details
Avalanche Problems
Loose Wet
Moist or wet loose snow avalanches may release during periods of daytime warming or if periods of rain showers persist. Loose snow avalanches may trigger deeper weak layers.
Aspects: All aspects.
Elevations: All elevations.
Likelihood: Likely
Expected Size: 1 - 3
Persistent Slabs
Weak layers deeper in the snowpack may become reactive during strong solar radiation and daytime warming, or if rain showers persist. Large triggers like cornices or loose snow avalanches may propagate slab avalanches on these layers.
Aspects: All aspects.
Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.
Likelihood: Unlikely - Possible
Expected Size: 1 - 3
